SB6 was introduced in December 2020 and authorizes rezoning for large apartments, overriding local zoning laws. It was sent to the Assembly, but held up until the Assembly could author their own version.
AB2011 was introduced in February of 2022 and not only authorizes rezoning, but also insists on strictly union workers
being used for the construction.
Both bills are now in the third reading stage prior to a floor vote and presentation to the governor.
Care to take a guess as to which one will be approved? With the super majority assembly and with Newsom, it's usually Union Yes.
