The editorial in Tuesday's Inland Valley Bulletin was touting SB57. I believe that drug users "at the furthest end of addiction" should be institutionalized, not given safe havens to practice their addiction. Put them in a mandatory detox program to give them an opportunity to end their addiction and move on to a normal life free of constantly striving for the next "fix". Experts in detox should be used to help them rid their bodies of this craving, not encourage continued addiction. Please contact Newsom's office, as this bill has already passed both houses and is headed to the governor's office for signature. If you aren't aware of it, there is an article in today's LA Times touting it.
