OPPOSING SB 562
SINGLE PAYER HEALTHCARE BILL
The CA Senate Appropriations Committee vote on SB 562 for single-payer healthcare in CA may come as soon as this Friday. We thought it going to be May 25th , but the Courage Campaign just wrote saying it could be this week.
Please call your state senator and ask them to OPPOSE SB 562.
Anthony Portantino’s, (Dem) Sacramento # is (916) 651-4025
. District Office: (818) 409-0400
Mike Morrell (Republican) (916) 651-4023, District Office (909) 919-7731
It’s also important to get through to the senators on Appropriations. Listed below are the ones who need persuading and their districts. If you know anyone who lives in those areas, please get in touch with them and ask them to call their senator.
The simple way to explain SB 562 is that it would be Medicare for all in California. California Legislature would set the rates and determine coverage, and pay the bill! T

All of the Senators need calling; even if they are Democrats. Some are on the edge, and may be swayed if they get enough calls to oppose.
And calling our own senators will help create buzz against the bill and awareness of the non-support for it if/when it comes to the full Senate.
Indivisible Claremont is pushing this issue hard; they had a letter published in the Courier this last Friday in which they outlined the benefits of the bill. The Republicans must counter.
