Michael D Antonovich

Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor and Candidate for California State Senator 2016

This is a must win seat, a must win campaign!  Senator, Carol Liu – Democrat, is termed out and the Republicans must take over this seat.  Antonovich is running against a plethora of Democrats who do not want to lose the seat to a Republican.

Antonovich is a former California Assemblyman, serving for three terms, and was the Republican Whip from 1976 to 1978.  In 1978, he ran for Lieutenant Governor, against Mike Curb.  In 1984, he was elected Chairman of the California Republican Party, and served for two years.

He was Chairman of the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors in 1983, 1987 and 1991 and served as the “Mayor of Los Angeles County” in 1983, 1987, 1991, 2001 and 2006.  He was re-elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2012 and will term out in 2016.

Antonovich was in the United States Army Reserve in 1957.  In 1963, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Los Angeles, and his Master’s Degree in 1966.  He has taught in the los Angeles Unified School District and at Pepperdine University.

Mr. Longanecker, will share critical information based on his research on ISIS.  The question is: just who is this jihadist terror group?  We Will learn of the cultural context that will further our understanding of the motives and impetus of this radical organization.

“Mark Longanecker is a former member of the Mountain View Republican Club and Board where he served as Legislation Committee Chair.  Mark is a former mathematician, and teacher; he has also dabbled in real estate.  Retired now, Mark is devoting his time writing and studying Middle Eastern history.
